On Wednesday, October 17th (during the school day) we will be offering several activities that align with Kingwood’s focus on College and Career readiness. 

General information regarding October 17th testing follows.  At the end are links for online registration and the student flier that was given out on August 29th.  Please read the flier for additional testing information.  The flier includes information on test format, who should take which tests and why, registration, cost, and payment guidelines.

Testing and Preparatory Opportunities for October 12th:

*TAKS Prep is mandatory for TAKS Exit level students testing in October.

PSAT & Juniors: It is strongly recommended that Juniors take the PSAT.  Grade 11 PSAT participants are able to qualify and compete for recognition and scholarships through the National Merit Scholarship Corporation.  The PSAT also provides juniors with another opportunity to practice the SAT before they take it as recommended in the spring.

ASVAB: We are in no way encouraging entrance into the Armed Forces.  The scores of this exam will NOT be released to recruiters.  This multi-aptitude test offers students access to a Career Exploration Guide.  Students' interests and abilities are aligned with multiple occupational suggestions in today's workforce.  Students are also provided with personalized links to educational and occupational resources that will provide them assistance in choosing their path of study for future college or career entry.

Registration:  ALL Juniors and Seniors MUST register online by September 16.  Seniors must register, even if they are choosing late arrival.  Non-registration will default students into ASVAB testing.  Freshman and Sophomores do NOT register.  Students who do not attend their chosen (or defaulted) session will be marked absent.

Payment:  Payment for PSAT or SAT Prep will NOT be taken on campus.  All payments must be made online or mailed to the online registration company.
