Humble ISD Compensatory Time for 2016-2017
The 2016 comp days are Friday August 12, 2016 and Monday October 10, 2016.
Professional/contract employees are expected to complete a minimum of forty (40) clock hours of professional growth annually, twelve (12) of which are required to be off-contract hours to earn the two compensatory days. The twelve hours of off-contract time for the comp days will begin starting June 4, 2016. Additional professional growth hours beyond forty (40) per year must be pre-approved by the supervisor when it does not present a hardship to the classroom, the campus, and/or the department. Employees who wish to present at conferences and/or workshops outside of the district must have prior approval from their supervisor. Prior approval from the employee's supervisor is required regarding the specific professional learning sessions before the comp hours can be applied for the designated comp days.
Non-exempt/KRONOS users are encouraged to attend a minimum of sixteen (16) clock hours of professional growth annually. If the professional learning opportunity is within the district, Kronos users must swipe in/out. If the professional learning opportunity is outside of the district, employees must enter the day in Aesop as professional development. Additionally, employees are responsible for turning in a certificate of completion/proof of attendance to their supervisor by the next business day. All time sheets must be corrected within the pay period that they employee attended the professional learning. Prior approval from the employee's supervisor is required before the comp hours can be applied for the designated comp days.
