Applications are being accepted until April 24th and we will meet to vote for the nominated parties on April 28th in the AMS library at 10am!

PTA Board Description of duties for the executive board
President conducts all PTA board and general meetings. Oversee all committees/sub-committees pertaining to all PTA events. Maintain lines of communication between AMS administration, faculty, staff and parents. Maintain all PTA-related website information. Member of campus based decision-making team. The President and/or Vice-President coordinates all of the committee chair liaisons for the fall carnival (October). Develop Sub-committees to help with games/booths/food vendors. Coordinate Auction (coincides with Carnival). Solicit donations for the event (inside and outside of AMS).
-Vice-President Coordinates Back to School Luncheon for faculty and staff (August). Coordinates all of the committee chair liaisons for fundraisers. In the event that the President is unable to fulfill his/her duties, the Vice-President will be required to assume those responsibilities until a selection is made.
-Secretary Responsible for all PTA-related publications. Record minutes of all PTA board and general meetings.
-Treasurer Prepare tax reports and file appropriately. Maintain strict records of income and expenses. Responsible for collection of insufficient funds for the PTA. Responsible for all deposits and disbursements of PTA monies. Must submit to an outside audit at the discretion of the PTA board and/or Principal. Must prepare & present up-to-date financial statement at each monthly PTA meeting.
In addition to completing the duties listed, Board Members are expected to assist with other PTA sponsored events.
PTA Meetings are usually held once a month and will be determined after the new Board is elected. Meetings are required, your attendance is important to maintain a quorum in order to conduct business. Additionally, it keeps PTA board members informed.
