Welcome to Maplebrook Elementary! We opened this school in Humble Independent School District in 2001, and we are located in an area of very fast growth. Maplebrook serves the communities of Walden, Pines of Atascocita, Camp Lilly, and Sunrise Apartments.
As you walk through the doors of our beautiful school, you will feel the warm and nurturing atmosphere. We have students in pre-Kindergarten through fifth grade who are excited to be a part of our school. The Maplebrook staff is an outstanding staff whose goal is to help each of these students reach their fullest potential both academically and socially. Our staff takes part in continuous staff development, workshops, and conferences to ensure that they are always current in the latest developments in education. We also have a wonderful PTO that supports our students and staff throughout the year.
We provide our students with computers in every classroom along with two complete Dell labs. Each of our classrooms has an LCD projector, interactive whiteboard, and a document camera. Students and staff also have access to other technology equipment including scanners, printers, digital cameras, and student response systems. Our students learn keyboarding skills, use a variety of online resources, and create many technology-integrated projects to enhance the different curriculum areas.
Our staff is very involved in Balanced Literacy which provides a comprehensive program connecting reading, phonics, writing, and language arts. The teachers model components, strategies, and techniques to increase students' reading and writing skills. We want all students to become successful, independent readers and writers.
Our focus for this school year will be teaching the TEKS in depth to all students in all subject areas. Maplebrook's fundraisers will be devoted to purchasing instructional materials, lab equipment, manipulatives, and consumables to support that goal.
We invite you to visit our school and get to know us. We are eager to meet you and hope that you will become involved in our school.
