Lady Eagles repeat as winners of the Baseball USA Fall High School League Softball tournament!

It was a beautiful night at the yard as the Lady Eagles from Atascocita lead by seniors Ashley Gonzalez and Stephanie Regan and behind the pitching of Kadimarie Blackwell won the first game against Waltrip one to nothing and moved on to the championship game against Memorial.

The championship game was tied at zero until the bottom of the fourth when Leigha Doyle lead off with a single followed by a walk of Regan, Alyssa Romero singled to load the bases which brought junior Nicki Zachary to the plate. With a two one count Zachary took the fourth pitch to the fence for a three run triple. Kim Rigard continued the hitting with a RBI scoring Zachary from third. That proved to be more than enough as Romero and the defense held Memorial scoreless for the win. Thanks go to Head Coach Jon McDonald of Triple Play Baseball academy and Coaches David Zachary and Jay Gilberth for there time and dedication. Very special thanks go out to Candy Zachary for organizing the team without her it would not have been possible.
