Oaks STAAR TESTING PROCEDURES
Tuesday, April 1st and Wednesday April 2nd
As you may know, 4th graders will take the Writing STAAR test and 5th graders will take the STAAR Reading and
Math tests next Tuesday and Wednesday. In efforts to create an atmosphere of testing integrity please note the following information that will affect all students on our campus:
· No campus visitation (PK-5th)
· No delivery of outside lunches (PK-5th)
· Cafeteria will serve lunches for all students (PK-5th ) as usual; unless your child brings their lunch from home
· No specials classes (4th or 5th)
· 4th and 5th grade will be provided a STAAR snack & water
Cell Phone and Electronic Device Policy
According to Texas Educational Agency (TEA)
Students are not permitted to have cell phones or electronic devices on their person or within reach during testing. If you have a cell phone or electronic device, it must be turned completely off and kept in a purse, backpack, or locker which is out of reach for the duration of the test. Cell phone and/or electronic device usage during testing is a serious violation and will be considered cheating.
As you can see, TEA is very serious regarding this policy. Unless your 4th or 5th grader must have a cell phone for before
or after school use, please help by keeping cell phones at home on Tuesday and Wednesday. Otherwise the student will be
required to follow the above guidelines.
As always thank you for your continued support in making Learning all that matters!
