About MBE Technology Maplebrook Elementary is fortunate to have many technology resources available for its staff and students which enhance teaching and improve learning. Each classroom is equipped with a ceiling-mounted projector, a Mobi interactive board, and a document camera. In addition, there are 3-4 computers in each classroom, 2 computer labs, and 25 computers in the library. Teachers and students also have access to laptops, scanners, digital cameras, color printers, Alphasmarts, digital microscopes, and eInstruction student response systems ("Bear Buzzers"). We also have a Polycom videoconferencing cart which allows us to connect to other classrooms throughout the district as well as distance learning content providers throughout the United States. Our vBrick device enables us to stream content to all classrooms simultaneously including our very own student news broadcast, MBC News. All instructional computers have the following software installed: Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Publisher), Type to Learn 3, The Graph Club, Neighborhood Map Machine, Scholastic Keys, Pixie, PhotoStory, and Movie Maker. In addition, our campus has subscription licensed software including MySatori, Study Island, Reading Eggs, and KidBiz3000. During the 2012-13 school year, we will be integrating iPad technology into classroom instruction. |
