Congrats to Pine Forest Elementary for being named one of 62 Texas schools to earn the Counselors Reinforcing Excellence for Students in Texas (CREST) award through the Texas School Counselor Association.
The award programs evaluates campus counseling programs in seven areas, including Principal’s Support, School Counseling Advisory Council, School Climate and Safety, Student Results, Major Achievements, Community Partnerships and Resources, and Parent Collaboration. The CREST award signifies PFE as a leader in counseling excellence. School Counselor Jennifer Vandenbrook credits a supportive campus environment as a key factor in this recognition.
“Our counseling program plays a vital role in student success,” said Vandenbrook. “We’ve been able to introduce programs such as Red Ribbon Week, Be the Change Week/Great Kindness Challenge, Panther P.A.L.s. (Peers as Leaders), and college/career readiness activities.”
In addition to these programs, Vandenbrook and PFE Principal TJ Hall emphasize the importance of a child centered approach providing interactive and engaging educational experiences for students K-5.
“I am very proud of the counseling program at PFE as we strive to put children's needs and supports first,” Hall said. “Making connections and building relationships equal academic success.”
