Humble ISD celebrates the induction of new National Technical Honor Society members

Humble ISD held the very first National Technical Honor Society initiation and installation of officers, Jan. 23.  Eighteen students from all five high schools in Humble ISD are represented in the chapter.

 

The National Technical Honor Society serves over 100,000 active members and about a million since the organization began in 1984. Annually the organization provides $250,000 in scholarships. NTHS honors the achievements of top CTE students and acknowledges student excellence in career and technical education. NTHS has chapters in all 50 states, Guam, American Samoa, Puerto Rico, and the Bahamas. 

 

The National Technical Honor Society promotes the ideals of service, leadership, and skill development among America’s future workforce.  Members of NTHS must attain an overall GPA of 3.25 or higher and be enrolled in a career technical education program.  David Srubar, Cheryl Chinen, Shirley Revels, Kira Hassler Newsom and Risa McCann are currently serving as advisors for the Humble ISD chapter.
