Humble ISD’s Super Staffers of the Month were recognized at the regularly scheduled Board Meeting on March 21. Thanks to Community Resource Credit Union for sponsoring this month's Super Staffers! Pictured in back is School Board President Keith Lapeze, and from left are Community Resource Credit Union Representative Britney Samperi, Ross Sterling Middle School After School Program Coordinator Margaret Lemond, Child Nutrition Supervisor Joy Peters Oram, and Superintendent Dr. Elizabeth Fagen.

Honored at the Board Meeting were the following Super Staffers:

Lisa Grayson Shadow Forest Elementary, Librarian (not pictured)

Those who nominated her said, "Lisa does some amazing work as our librarian. She has set up an inviting literacy space in our school’s library and really knows the students well! Lisa not only works hard to have great books available in the library, but also knows the reading interests and levels of individual students – knowing which books would be just right and which ones would challenge students as appropriate.   In addition to supporting students in becoming readers, Lisa also works closely with teachers. She helps teachers find resources needed for units of study and works collaboratively with them to provide effective literacy instruction."

Margaret Lemond — Ross Sterlingd Middle School, After School Program Coordinator

Those who nominated her said, "Ms. Lemond goes above and beyond to build relationships with teachers, staff and students. She is always looking for ways to contribute to events for our students. She provided support and resources to ensure that our Parent University was a success. She also visits with teachers to identify ways the after school program can support learning throughout the school day. Ms. Lemond is the epitome of southern hospitality. You will always receive a heartfelt smile and a hand to help you out."

Joy Peters Oram — Child Nutrition Supervisor

Those who nominated her said, "Joy fosters teamwork in all kitchens that she supervises. She demonstrates genuine care and concern for all employees. In addition to supervising 8 kitchens, Joy is responsible for monitoring health department inspections and training for all employees on food safety. Joy embraces these responsibilities and excels in managing all aspects of food safety in 41 kitchens. Joy is truly a "joy" to have on our Child Nutrition team."

CAMPUS SUPER STAFFERS

Each month, campuses and departments select an individual to be honored as a Super Staffer for their outstanding work in advancing student achievement. A drawing is held and three honorees receive additional recognition at the School Board Meeting, including a $200 gift card to Pappas Restaurants thanks to an award sponsor. The sponsor for the Super Staffer Awards this month is Gulf Coast Educators Credit Union.
