Kingwood Park High School hosted the district-wide Integrated Athletics Basketball Tournament on Nov. 9.

Kingwood Park students lined the hallways of the campus to welcome and cheer on the Integrated Athletics students before their big tournament. Led by the schools’ cheerleaders and drumline, teams representing each high school walked from the school entrance to the school gym.  Once each team reached the door of the gym they ran through the big Kingwood Park Panther head and were greeted with smiles and cheers by the Kingwood Park Silver Stars Drill Team.

Humble ISD Superintendent Dr. Elizabeth Fagen delivered the welcome during the opening ceremony. The welcome was followed by the presentation of colors by the Kingwood Park JROTC, a heartfelt performance of the National Anthem sang by Humble High School student Gabriela Paredes and dance routines by the Silver Stars dance team, Kingwood Park High School cheerleaders and a special dance performance by Atascocita High School.

The students played a total of 10 games. Each game was eight minutes long with a one minute break at four minutes to switch out players. At the end of the tournament, Athletes of the Week were announced and medals were presented to each student.

Athletes of the Week: Ayani Knenbrew (AHS), Chris Dailey (KPHS), Ben Cohen (KHS), Jacob Gomez (HHS) and Rosie Castillo (SCHS).
