Humble ISD’s Super Staffers of the Month were recognized at the regularly scheduled Board Meeting on December 13. Thanks to Gulf Coast Educators Credit Union for sponsoring this month's Super Staffers! Pictured in back is School Board President Keith Lapeze, and from front left are Gulf Coast Educators Credit Union Representative Julia Arceneaux, CNS Bookkeeper Julie Naldrett, KMS Bookkeeper Brenda Clark and North Belt Elementary 5th Grade Teacher Ashley Collier, and Superintendent Dr. Elizabeth Fagen.

Honored at the Board Meeting were the following Super Staffers:

Ashley Collier North Belt Elementary 5th Grade Teacher

Those who nominated her said, "Ms. Collier is a member of our 2nd grade team here at North Belt. Relationships are key to Ms. Collier as evidenced by her smiling face every morning as she greets each student at the door.   She provides authentic situations for student learning and partners with other grade levels for peer tutoring. Some comments made about Ms. Collier by her fellow teammates were as follows, “Ashley reaches out to include others and fosters an extraordinary sense of teamwork.”, “She creates an inviting environment every day for every student."

Brenda Clarke — Atascocita Middle School Bookkeeper

Those who nominated her said, "Brenda has the dedication that many have at KMS. She works when she is sick and she does everything she can to be at school. I have been in Brenda's office when a student comes in and she drops everything to help them. There are a few special students that come by daily just to get a hug. Brenda Clark works tirelessly to help teachers get the supplies they need for the classroom. Brenda works with teachers to find out who is an approved vendor to write grants with. When the grants come through she helps with the orders and the follow up. Brenda keeps fabulous records to keep us aware of the money left to spend. She does the behind the scene things that make it all work. Brenda may not be in a classroom every day with students but she is an vital part of what happens in the classroom with students. Brenda will help teachers with whatever she is asked. Brenda is also covering the nurse's office and anything else that is thrown her way. Thank you Brenda."

Julie Naldrett — Child Nutrition Bookkeeper

Those who nominated her said, "Julie interacts with families applying for free or reduced price meal benefits. Julie handles each family with compassion and caring. She makes certain each applicant feels comfortable and meets their needs in any way that she can. She provides warmth and caring as well as outstanding customer service to all! In addition, this fall a new software system was implemented that required Julie to revamp all of her usual procedures for processing meal applications. Julie tackled the challenge and insured a smooth school start up for hundreds of students on the free and reduced meal program."

Each month, campuses and departments select an individual to be honored as a Super Staffer for their outstanding work in advancing student achievement. A drawing is held and three honorees receive additional recognition at the School Board Meeting, including a $200 gift card to Pappas Restaurants thanks to an award sponsor. The sponsor for the Super Staffer Awards this month is Gulf Coast Educators Credit Union.
