Week 1: What to Expect - Pack Your Patience

Every start to our school years come with some challenges, so we ask that you work with us and be patient as we welcome our Gators for the first week.  Some things you can expect to see and how you can help the process be smoother/faster:

  • Students will enter the building without parents (To help us get the day started on time, we will ask that parents do not enter the building on the first day with their children.  This will be a very busy day and we will need to get our students to their locations quickly so that we can start the school day!  The building will be open for touring on Saturday, August 5th from 3 - 5 PM.   Families will be invited to walk and tour the school at their leisure.)

  • Long car rider lines (Pull all the way up to the cones.  Please follow the guidance of our car rider staff when dropping off/picking up each day.) When you pull to the front of the building, we ask that your child exit the vehicle quickly.  Students should exit as soon as the vehicle stops in front of the awning in front of the school.

  • Late bus dismissals (or double routes) due to buses running elementary/high school routes before middle school; Some buses may arrive to pick students up after 4:45 p.m. the first week (Be patient with transportation the first week. They will be adjusting routes as needed based on the number of students/routes.)

  • Coned-off areas in the car rider drop-off/pick-up loop (To help with the flow of traffic, please stay in your vehicles and stay on the car rider path during these times.)  Drive slowly and watch for pedestrians crossing.

  • Every day will get better! (Pack your patience and bring a smile!)

  • Stay calm!  It’s the first day of school!

  • Expect a long wait!  Get excited about a short wait!

Traffic Flow

Please review this GIF for an overview of how traffic will flow during arrival and dismissal.  Students will be allowed to enter the building at 7:50 a.m. (Late Arrival Days: 9:30 a.m.).  Dismissal will begin at 4:00 p.m. each day.  For student drop-offs/pick-ups, please only use the front car rider loop.  Students should not be dropped off in the front parking lot, on the bus ramp, or in the back staff parking lot.  When cones are placed for traffic control, we ask that they not be moved or driven through during these times. We appreciate your patience to ensure the safety of all students!

New Bell Schedule

Autumn Ridge Middle School will have a new bell schedule for the 2023-2024 school year.  When the bell schedule is finalized, it will be shared via email and will be listed on our campus website.

As you begin to shop for school clothes for your child(ren), please ensure that all clothing adheres to the: Autumn Ridge Middle School  - Dress Code Policy

The complete Humble ISD Student Dress and Grooming policy can be found in the Parent/Student Handbook.

Principal’s discretion will be used for all dress code violations.
