Kingwood High School opened on September 4, 1979 for the 1979-1980 school-year.  

The school serves students in 9th grade through 12th grade. 

The school colors are Navy Blue, Columbia Blue and White.  The school mascot is the Mustang.

The school is located at 2701 Kingwood Drive, in Kingwood.
