Lakeland Elementary School opened for the 1960-1961 schoolyear. 

The school serves students in grades Kindergarten through 5th grade.  Lakeland Elementary School is designated as a Title I Schoolwide campus.

The school colors are Purple and White.  The school mascot is the Wildcat.
