Oaks Elementary School opened on December 16, 1979, midway through the 1979-1980 school year.  

The school serves students in grades Pre-Kindergarten through 5th grade.  Oaks Elementary School is designated as a Title I Schoolwide campus.

The school colors are Green and White.  The school mascot is the Owl.
