Louise Panzarella

Louise Panzarella

Louise Panzarella was a native of Chicago, born on November 28, 1915. She moved to Humble in 1942 with her husband, Dr. Carlo Panzarella. After the death of her husband, she became avery active in civic activities.

Louise Panzarella was the first woman ever elected to the Humble ISD School Board and served for nearly 13 years. She was elected to Position 2 on April 8, 1969 and served until January 2, 1979. She was later elected to Position 3 on January 19, 1985 and served until January 19, 1988.

On the School Board, she served as:

During her break from serving on the school board (1979-1985), Louise Panzarella served as a member of the Humble City Council (the 2nd woman to ever do so).

She also served as a bank director of First City Bank for 8 years, an Honorary Life Member of the PTA, President of the Atascocita Women's Golf Association, President of the Harris County Women Golfers, President of the Humble Lioness Club, Board of Directors of the Humble Chamber of Commerce and Board Director of Symphony North. In 2003, Mrs. Panzarella was honored as the 2002 Haden E. McKay "Citizen of the Year".

Mrs. Louise Panzarella died on December 27, 2009.

Chris Parker

Chris Parker

Chris is a longtime Lake Houston Area volunteer and mother of two Humble ISD students. Chris is a graduate of Kingwood High School and is the first KHS graduate to serve on the School Board. She earned her Bachelor of Science from Stephen F. Austin State University and is a licensed Property and Casualty and Life Health Agent. She is currently a trainer in the insurance field. Chris, her husband Jason and their daughters, Payton and Sheridan, are members of Second Baptist Church North Campus.

Her community involvement includes participating in the Humble ISD Community Leadership Academy, Leadership Lake Houston, Precinct 4 Citizens Police Academy, PTA Board at Deerwood Elementary, Delegate to Council of PTA’s, and National Charity League. She is a board member for Mother’s Against Cancer, Committee Member at the Clubs of Kingwood, Mighty Mustang Military Marching Band Mom, and a Creekwood Colt Band Mom. Chris is also a FamilyTime Woman of Achievement volunteer and Evelyn Walter Award for Excellence winner.

Chris is Chair of the Advocacy Committee and serves as a member of the Finance Committee. 

J. S. Patrick

J. S. Patrick served on the School Board for Harris County Common School District No. 28 for 2 years, from 1914 through 1916.

Mr. Pentecost served on the School Board for Harris County Common School District No. 35 for 3 years, from 1915 through 1918.

Frank Albert Peters

Frank Albert Peters was born on May 7, 1874.

He served on the School Board for Harris County Common School District No. 28 for 5 years, from November 8, 1911 through 1916.

Frank Albert Peters died on November 16, 1924.

George Pilgreen

George J. Pilgreen

George J. Pilgreen was born on September 13, 1911. He was owner of the Pilgreen Appliance & Furniture Store.

He served on the Humble ISD School Board for 6 years in Position 1, beginning on May 1, 1945 and serving until May 8, 1951.

Herndon Kirksey Pursley

Herndon Kirksey Pursley

Herndon Kirksey Pursley was born on March 19, 1897.  He finished high school in Silsbee, Texas and moved to Humble with his wife in 1918. He received a degree in pharmacy from Baylor University in Dallas. He was owner of the Humble Pharmacy

Mr. Pursley served on the Humble ISD School Board for just over a year. He was elected on April 6, 1929 and resigned on October 7, 1930.

Melvin Henry Randow

Melvin Henry Randow was born February 19, 106.

Melvin H. Randow served on the Humble ISD School Board in Position 3 for 3 years, beginning on April 8, 1946.  He resigned on August 3, 1948, after he had moved out of the district.

Julie J. Redd

Julie J. Redd

Julie Redd had been a volunteer at both Foster and Bear Branch Elementary Schools.  She served as a Sunday School teacher, Cub Scout Den Leader & Kingwood Soccer Association board member.

Julie Redd served on the Humble ISD School Board for 6 years. She was elected to Position 2 on January 2, 1979 and serving until January 19, 1985.

She had served as a director of the Trailwood Village Community Association, and as a member of the Family Time Foundation board.

Jerald Everett Redmon

Jerald Everett Redmon

Jerald Everett Redmon was born August 20, 1933.  He was the President of Custom Kitchen Equipment. He was a huge supporter of the Humble ISD Livestock Show and Rodeo, and was chosen as the honoree for the 2003 show.

Jerald Redmon served on the Humble ISD School Board for nearly 10 years. He was elected to Position4 on April 8, 1970 and serving continuously until January 22, 1980.

J. F. Reed

J. F. Reed served on the Humble ISD School Board for 3 years. He was elected to Position 7 on May 6, 1953 and serving continuously until May 9, 1956.

Erna Rogers

Erna Rodgers was a homemaker and former teacher.

Erna Rodgers served on the Humble ISD School Board for 2 years. She was elected to Position 4 on February 14, 1989 and served continuously through January 22, 1991.

Heath Rushing

Heath A. Rushing

Heath A. Rushing graduated from Texas A&M University with a Bachelor’s degree in Exercise Physiology and holds a Master’s degree in Healthcare Administration from Texas Women’s University in the Texas Medical Center. He worked as Senior Vice President and CEO at Memorial Hermann Northeast Hospital and has been employed by Memorial Hermann Health System since 2002.

Mr. Rushing was elected to the Humble ISD School Board to Position 6 on May 11, 2013.  He resigned on April 7, 2017 after he had moved from the area.

Mr. Rushing has served as chairman of the School Board’s Finance Committee and has been a member of the Audit Committee and Technology and Data Governance Committee.


Heath Rushing is a graduate of the inaugural Leadership Lake Houston program sponsored by the Lake Houston Area Chamber of Commerce. He is also a board member for the Lake Houston Area Chamber of Commerce,  and has served on the Executive Committee and as Co-Race Director for the annual Lake Houston 10K/5K.  He is a board member for the Northeast Hospital Foundation and the Lake Houston Family YMCA. Heath also serves as a member of the Lake Houston Economic Development Partnership and the Lake Houston Area Planning Council.

Robert Scarfo

Robert Scarfo

Robert Scarfo is Director of Credit Services for Administaff.  Mr. Scarfo earned a master’s degree in finance from Columbia University and holds a bachelor’s degree in economics from Seton Hall University.

Robert Scarfo served on the Humble ISD School Board two times. He served for 7 years in Position 7, being elected on May 10, 2008 and served through May 9, 2015. He was elected a second time to the board in Position 2 on May 4, 2019 and is currently serving.

Robert Scarfo served on the Handbook Review, Student Health Advisory, Board's Legislative, Audit, Building/Planning Committees, and past Bond Study Committees. He has also been a member the Humble Area Chamber of Commerce, serving on the Governmental Affairs Committee.

Berthold Brown Schott

Berthold Brown Schott was born on October 4, 1910. He worked as Personnel Manager at the Hughes Tool Co. in Houston.


B. B. Schott served on the Humble ISD School Board for 16 years, having been first elected to Position 6 on May 10, 1950 and serving continuously until September 1, 1966.

Hilton Charles Schott

Hilton Charles Schott

Hilton Charles Schott was born on March 5, 1903. He grew up in Humble and attended the Moonshine Hill school. He was the owner of the Schott's Grocery Store on Main Street. Later, he opened the Scott and Sons Food Market on the corner of Higgins Street and Avenue B.

H. C. Schott served on the Humble ISD School Board for over 18 years. He was first appointed to fill the unexpired term of Conway A. Taylor in Position 2 on January 3, 1933. He was then elected to the position on April 3, 1933 and served continuously until May 8, 1951.

George W. Scott served on the school board for Harris County Common School District No. 35 during the 1907-1908 and 1908-1909 school years.

Larry Shyrock

Larry Shyrock was the Executive Vice President, Group Manager, of Texas Commerce Bank.

Larry Shyrock served on the Humble ISD School Board for 3.5 years. He was appointed by the School Board to fill the unexpired term of Dr. Charles R. Brown in Position 1 on May 22, 1984.  He was elected to Position 1 on January 19, 1985 and served continuously through January 19, 1988.

Reed Singleton

Reed Singleton was born in January 1848. He was frequently listed as an election judge for elections in the Humble area of Harris County.

Reed Singleton served on the School Board for Harris County Common School District No. 35, which was one of the predecessors to the Humble Independent School District.

He served on the School Board for Harris County Common School District No. 35 for 1 year, from 1901 through 1901.

The Singleton School on Atascocita Road (1903-1918) was named in his honor.

Reed Singleton died on June 26, 1918 in Harris County, Texas.

Robert Sitton

Robert Sitton

Robert A. Sitton is a Partner/Financial Advisor with Edward Jones Investments. He is a life-long resident of Humble ISD, part of a family of three generations of Humble High School graduates. His professional experience includes teaching and coaching for eight years in Aldine ISD.

Mr. Sitton is a current member of the Humble ISD School Board. He was first elected to Position 1 on May 14, 2011.

Robert Sitton has served on the School Board’s Building and Planning, Board and Superintendent Evaluation committees, and has been chairman of the Program Evaluation Committee. Robert has also served as Chairman of the Board for the Lake Houston Area Chamber of Commerce and Kingwood Medical Center.

Walter Slaughter

Walter Slaughter was born on October 9, 1875.

Mr. Slaughter served on the School Board for Harris County Common School District No. 35, which was one of the predecessors to the Humble Independent School District.

He served on the School Board for Harris County Common School District No. 35 for 1 year, from April 5, 1913 through 1914.

Walter Slaughter died on July 24, 1950.

Scott Spradlin

Scott Dunbar Spradlin

Scott Dunbar Spradlin was born September 20, 1951.  He initially worked as a high school science teacher.  Scott then graduated from the University of Texas with a Master of Science in Geology degree. He went to work as a geologist for Exxon Corp., and was stationed in Tyler, Houston, Sakhalin Island, Nova Scotia, New Orleans, Azerbaijan, and the Philippines.   

Scott D. Spradlin served on the Humble ISD School Board two different times, for a total of 6 years. The first time was for 3 years. He was elected to Posiiton 5 on January 12, 1989.  A little more than two years later, Mr. Spradlin was transferred overseas, and resigned his position from the Humble ISD School Board effective August 16, 1991.  His position was not filled at the time, since a new school board election was already scheduled for January 1992.

The second time he served was for 3 years. Mr. Spradlin and his family moved back to Kingwood in August 1992. He ran for a position on the school board and was elected to Position 1 on January 15, 1994. However, once again Mr. Spradlin's company moved him overseas, and he resigned from the Humble ISD School Board on April 7, 1997. Dr. Aaron Clevenson was selected by the shcool board to fill the unexpired term of Mr. Spradlin starting in June, until the next School Board election in January 1998.

Mr. Spradlin also served as Vice-President of the Fosters Mill Community Association and Treasurer of the Kingwood Service Association.  Scott Spradlin died on October 12, 2017.

Dr. John Stefek

Dr. John Stefek holds a PhD and Masters in Marketing, and a B. A. Business.  He came to the Humble area as the general manager of Deerbrook Mall. Later, he was the Executive Director of Northeast Regional Health Services, and later was the President of Foresight Planning Services, Inc.

Dr. John Stefek served on the Humble ISD School Board for 6 years. He was elected to Position 1 on January 19, 1988 and served continuously through January 15, 1994.

Bob Strader was the Vice-President Business Analyst for Phillip Services, Inc.

Mr. Strader served on the Humble ISD School Board for 1 1/2 years. He was elected to Position 6 on May 4, 2002 and resigned before completing his term on November 11, 2003.
