Occupational Therapy

Occupational Therapy is a healthcare profession focused on helping individuals of all ages learn (or re-learn) to participate in activities that “occupy” their time during the day despite physical, cognitive, or social limitations.  In the school setting, the occupational therapist may support academic and/or non-academic outcomes for students with Special Education or 504 eligibility.  These areas may include academics, participation and access throughout the school environment, social participation, self-help skills, prevocational/vocational participation, and more for students with disabilities, who are 3 to 21 years of age.
