School Dances at KHS (not including Prom)

The 80's Dance and the Homecoming Dance are sponsored by the KHS Student Council.

(Prom is sponsored by the Senior Class and the venue changes each year. The 2025 Prom will be April 12th from 7:30pm to 11pm at The Ballroom at Bayou Place. See the Senior website for information)

The 80's Dance and the Homecoming Dance are held each year at the Humble Civic Center, located at 8233 Will Clayton Pkwy, Humble, TX 77338. We have to hold our dances there due to the large number of students that attend. On average, each dance will have anywhere from 1500 to 2000 students attending and that's more than the KHS campus can hold safely in one concentrated area.

All school dances are considered to be a school function and the same rules apply as if it were on our campus.

Teachers and Administrators will serve as chaperones at the dances. Parents are not allowed to volunteer at the dances.

Humble ISD Police Officers will serve as the security inside and outside of the dance.

Water bottles will be available (free) in the Special Events room to the side of the main ballroom. All water bottles MUST STAY inside of the Special Events Room.

School ID's will be required to enter the dance. Anyone not a KHS student that attempts to enter a dance will be considered trespassing on school property.

Dates are NOT required. A lot of our students will come to the dance with a group of friends or a church youth group.

Please make arrangements to pick up your student at the close of the dance. The Humble Civic Center parking lot has 3 entrances/exits. There are two on Will Clayton and one by the library on South Houston Street. Remember, your student can walk to wherever you are in the parking lot, you do not have to pick them up at the front entrance.

All tickets must be purchased on Revtrak on the KHS Website. Tickets are not sold at the door. Print your receipt or have it on your phone.

Tickets for the dances are sold on RevTrak. Tickets are NON-Refundable and NOT transferrable. NO TICKETS SOLD AT THE DOOR.

Be ON TIME to pick up your child from the dance. Plan to arrive early due to traffic at the Civic Center. See map below.

The 80's Dance is ONLY for Kingwood High students. There are no "outside of KHS" dates allowed.

Students wear their best 80's clothes and dance to a 70/30 mix of 80's and current music. NO liquid-filled "light-stick" type items are allowed. No bags or backpacks are allowed.

The Homecoming Dance is open to dates from outside of KHS. Students will need to plan in advance for their guest and have returned the guest form to their House Office. Guest forms will be made available 3 weeks prior to the dance and are located on each Class website.

Students dress semi-formal or casual for the Homecoming Dance. They will ask their peers for what is in style.

***There are three possible entrances into the Humble Civic Center. Two at the front and another on the side at the library. Again, consider pulling into the main parking lot and have your child meet you. An easy exit is behind the CC and library onto Old Humble Road.
