AVID’s mission is to close the opportunity gap by preparing all students for college and career readiness and success in a global society.

What is AVID?

AVID is a college preparatory elective providing academic and executive function skills in order to assist students in navigating the complexities of advanced coursework and postsecondary preparedness by accelerating academic success.

• Willingness to enroll or currently enrolled in advanced classes 

• Regular attendance

• Average to high test scores

• Minimum discipline issues

AVID Application Process

Students wanting to apply to be in AVID for the 23-24 school year must complete the following requirements.

• Complete & submit the AVID on-line application.

• Submit a copy of the student's most recent report card (this can be uploaded as part of the AVID application. If you are unable to upload your report card, you can email the document to Mrs. Pangarakis (kpangar@humbleisd.net)

• Student interview- Student interview will take place on the student's home campus. KMS will work with feeder elementary schools to coordinate interview times.

• Be enrolled in at least 1 Pre-AP course for the 23-24 school year.

All application materials must be submitted by Friday, January 12, 2024.
