Humble ISD will hold a Community Input Meeting regarding attendance areas for Summerwood Elementary School and Centennial Elementary School at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, April 15, at Summerwood Elementary School, 14000 Summerwood Lakes Drive.
At the meeting, a proposed attendance area change recommended by the School Attendance Area Committee (SAAC) will be presented for parent and the public input.
Summerwood Elementary, currently under expansion as a Bond 2022 project, will have six new classrooms open for the next school year.
The SAAC has recommended rezoning incoming Kindergarten students residing in Sections 55B and 55 F (map), and new students who move into Section 55B and 55F, from Centennial Elementary School to Summerwood Elementary School since Summerwood will be able to accommodate more students and a boundary change will prevent overcrowding at Centennial Elementary School. This change, if approved, would take effect next school year, 2025-2026.
Additionally, 10 more new classrooms will open at Summerwood Elementary School before the 2026-2027 school year. Therefore, the SAAC has recommended rezoning students in all elementary grade levels in 55B and 55F from Centennial Elementary to Summerwood Elementary, effective with the 2026-2027 school year.
