Timberwood Middle School

The mission of the Iron Man program is to sharpen others by showing genuine care for students, providing support through our presence, and building positive relationships with the students, staff and faculty.

Requirements:

For the safety of our staff and students, an Iron Man must meet the following requirements to volunteer at Timberwood Middle School.

• Be a father, grandfather, uncle, or other father figure of a currently enrolled student at Timberwood Middle School.

• Be at least 25 years of age.

• Complete a TMS Iron Man Interest Form

• Complete the district volunteer application on the Humble ISD Community Engagement Volunteer webpage.

• Have a background check conducted (as part of the district volunteer application process)

• Sign a confidentiality or non-disclosure agreement to protect the rights of our students.  Students in middle school are minors.  School personnel must comply with FERPA requirements to ensure that their confidential information is protected.  

• Attend a short Iron Man training session.

• Sign in to the Raptor system each time you enter the campus and wear the Raptor visitor sticker on the upper chest area.

• Volunteer at least 8 hours over the duration of the school year (One or more shifts can be chosen each day.  Shifts are available in approximately 2-hour time periods daily).

• Wear the “Timberwood MS Iron Man” t-shirt and jeans or dress pants, visually communicating to students and staff your presence and role on the campus, for the duration of your visit.
