To support families in preparing for the impact of Hurricane Laura, Humble ISD is cancelling all classes and activities on Wednesday, August 26, and Thursday, August 27. There will not be on campus/online school so that families can focus on storm preparations. All Humble ISD schools and buildings will be closed until at least August 28. A decision about school on Friday will be announced on Thursday after the storm’s actual impact is known.
In the 10 a.m. update Tuesday, the National Hurricane Center modified its forecast track for Hurricane Laura, shifting the storm’s landfall slightly closer to the Houston-Galveston metro area. We remain within the cone of uncertainty and need to be prepared for the possibility of additional westward shifts in the track. Laura appears to be a large storm and could produce a significant wind event for the Humble ISD community beginning Wednesday night.
