Honored at the Board Meeting were the following Super Staffers:
Diana Renteria -- Park Lakes Elementary, Paraeducator
Those who nominated her said, "Ms. Diana Renteria has exceeded expectations this year by consistently providing quality instruction, supporting her team members, and displaying patience with her students. Ms. Renteria joined our team with 14 years of experience in childcare and has been a valued member of the Park Lakes family since August 2018. This school year, one of our PreK teachers has been on leave for over one month and Ms. Renteria has ensured that instruction continues. She plans with the other PreK teachers and supports the substitute with her calm and kind demeanor to ensure that our students feel loved and continue to learn. We appreciate her very much for going above and beyond to help our young learners."
Crystal Medina -- Atascocita Middle School, AVID Elective Teacher
Those who nominated her said, "Ms. Crystal Medina is an AVID Elective Teacher and Athletic Coach who exemplifies the character and spirit of an AMS Tiger! She is a quiet and a humble leader... making AMS a better place through her kindness and ever-present smile. She helps her students realize the power of education is the chance to define themselves not by their circumstances but rather by their possibilities. The AVID skills Crystal teaches her students help them prepare for their future beyond academics, proving almost daily, teaching is truly her avocation, not just her vocation! Ms. Medina is truly a mentor for her students and co-workers at Atascocita Middle School."
Tomica Perez -- Child Nutrition Services, Summer Creek High School Cafeteria Manager
Those who nominated her said, "Tomica has shown great reliability and dedication for Humble ISD by always going above and beyond. When COVID-19 closed schools in March, the Child Nutrition Department continued to work and pass out meals to the community. During a time of chaos and uncertainty, Tomica showed up ready to work to ensure children of the community were fed daily. She has an amazing ability to think on her feet, organize, and assign duties that need to be done. She helped guide our coach and transportation volunteers on several assignments and spent countless hours helping our Assistant Director/Menu Planner with organizing, ordering and allocating deliveries for multiple schools."
"I’d also like to highlight Tomica’s remarkable optimism. During this time when plans seemed to change daily, she displayed a positive attitude no matter what was thrown in her direction. This type of energy makes for an enjoyable environment to work in and helps keep employee morale high. Tomica is a true asset to our district and is a pleasure to work with!"
