Longtime Humble ISD community partner and local businessman Bert Brocker was honored for his support and dedication to the district during the Nov. 10 Board of Trustees meeting.
Brocker, who operates the video streaming service Texan Live, was presented with a Board Commendation Award as Humble ISD Trustees thanked him for his service to the district.
Brocker owns Humble-based HS Sports Media, which operates Texan Live. Texan Live is the official livestream provider of Humble ISD for athletic events and high school graduation ceremonies. Texan Live also livestreams events for other Houston-area school districts.
Humble ISD Trustees expressed appreciation to Brocker for providing his live streaming service through the years at no charge to the district. Texan Live has covered countless athletic events, Board meetings, and graduation ceremonies for the district since 2014.
“Bert has been a huge community partner for so many years,” Robert Sitton, Humble ISD Board President, said. “On behalf of each Trustee who has served over the past six years, we thank you.”
Humble ISD Multimedia Operations Coordinator Rusty Odom said the district’s appreciation for Brocker’s services goes beyond the district.
“I can’t tell you the amount of parents, families, and people around the country who tell us that they’re grateful for the opportunity to watch their kids participate in events in Humble ISD,” Odom said.
In addition to live streaming services, Brocker has supported Humble ISD through the years through prize donations for the district’s Teachers of the Year as well as donations to benefit the Humble ISD Education Foundation.
