Humble ISD has selected Billy Beattie as the new Chief Financial Officer. The position was previously held by Robert “Mike” Seale, who is retiring January 29. The Chief Financial Officer oversees the district’s financial services office and advises and directs the district in financial matters.

Mr. Beattie comes to the position after serving as the Director of Business Systems, Payroll, Benefits, and Risk Management. His accomplishments include enacting all modules of the district’s Munis software, which is used by government agencies and schools to manage financials, human resources, payroll, and revenues. During the implementation of Munis, he worked to create a Munis support group to assist all Region 4 school districts. Additional accomplishments include implementing Humble ISD’s new health insurance plan and employee health clinics, as well as leading the employee and student COVID-19 testing program. Mr. Beattie also served as the district’s Financial Services Operations Director where he oversaw warehouse operations, textbook distribution, and implemented the District Document Center to make mail and print solutions more efficient for district staff. Prior to joining Humble ISD, he worked in the oil and gas industry with Gulf Interstate Engineering.

Growing up in Humble, he attended Pine Forest Elementary, Atascocita Middle School, and graduated from Humble High School. Mr. Beattie serves as board treasurer for the Humble High School Alumni Association. He is a graduate of Texas A&M University.

Mr. Beattie lives in Humble with his wife Ashley and son, Blake, who attends Fall Creek Elementary.

“I would not be where I am today if it were not for my education as an Humble ISD student,” Mr. Beattie said. “I look forward to upholding the district’s standards as Chief Financial Officer while continuing to provide students with the best educational experiences possible to prepare them for successful lives.”
