Strengthening Partnerships through Education

Parent University is a series of classes that educate families on how to best prepare their students for success.  The workshops cover a wide range of topics such as life skills, college and career readiness, health and wellness and much more.  Anyone can register for the free Parent University classes and new classes will be added to the schedule throughout the year.  
 
Parent University utilizes Eventbrite for online registrations.  You will need to create a free account to register for any workshops.

Navigating the Dual Credit Enrollment Process:  Virtual Tuesday, April 6 
Representatives from Humble ISD and Lone Star College will co-host this webinar to provide information, dates, and helpful information to guide students through the enrollment process. Following this event, each high school will host an in-person night to collect all items and to complete the registration process.

Basic Emergency Response & First Aid Workshop: Thursday, April 8
Join the Humble ISD Health Science Instructors from 6 to 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, April 8, at Summer Creek High School for this hands-on training for what to do in the case of a medical emergency. This workshop has a maximum capacity of 20 people. Masks are required.

Utilizing Texas Workforce Commission for Employment Supports: Virtual Thursday, April 8
Humble ISD Parent University is hosting this virtual webinar from 7 to 8 p.m. Thursday, April 8. Texas Workforce Commission Vocational Rehabilitation Services provide services for people with disabilities to help them prepare for, obtain, retain or advance in employment, including postsecondary involvement. This webinar will explain TWC's services and eligibility requirements.

College: Getting There from Here: Virtual Tuesday, April 20
Whether your children or grandchildren are learning to crawl or learning to drive, you can help make college education a reality. Jim Carranza, Financial Advisor with Edward Jones, will discuss questions to consider as you establish a college savings goal, strategies to help you reach your goal and the features and benefits of various education savings plans.

Learn the Great 8 Social Emotional Learning Skills that support the Humble ISD Portrait of a Graduate. This 1 hour session will highlight the key concepts of Social Awareness.
