Each month, campuses and departments select an individual to be honored as a Super Staffer for their outstanding work in advancing student achievement. A drawing is held and three honorees receive additional recognition at the School Board Meeting, including a gift card thanks to an award sponsor.

Honored at the Board Meeting were the following Super Staffers:

Super Staffer for Elementary – Francisca Galvan, River Pines Elementary Testing Coordinator and ALT
Those who nominated her said, "Francis Galvan has been a true team member at River Pines Elementary. During the struggles of Covid and virtual teaching, our campus needs changed. While in an interventionist role, she gracefully took on the role of Testing Coordinator and part-time ALT. She is always positive and professional. She never complains and works until the job is done. Francis is all about student success. She supports students in small groups and pushes them to meet all of their individual goals. She has gone above and beyond to organize and prepare for Mock and STAAR testing and has helped teachers, administrators, and other staff in many ways. Mrs. Galvan’s commitment and dedication to the needs of RPE teachers and students is commendable. She is a tremendous asset to our school."

Super Staffer for Secondary- Alice Braine, Kingwood Middle School Librarian
Those who nominated her said, " Ms. Braine fosters our students’ love and appreciation for reading. She helps students find books based on their interest, and she consistently checks in with students about what they’re reading and asks them how they are enjoying it when they come to the library. In addition to our students, Ms. Braine supports our staff in many ways. On numerous occasions she has covered classes, so that teachers can do PLC or attend professional development. She has even hosted science labs in the library and worked with students. Ms. Braine is kind and positive to all she encounters. She always has a smile on her face, and greets you warmly. She cares deeply for our staff and students, and it is evident in all that she does for us day in and day out. She is an amazing contribution to the KMS staff and we are so thankful for all of her years of service to our school."

Super Staffer for Support- Jennifer Jones, Administrative Assistant and building Manager, BBTC
Those who nominated her said, " Jennifer Jones continues to exceed expectations in the handling of building repairs and construction projects taking place here at the BBTC as a result of

the Winter Storm. She manages scheduling and ordering and her efforts make the recovery process easy and stress free for those who were affected. Her ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously is impressive. Jennifer embodies the meaning and purpose of what a Super Staffer should represent. Jennifer has played an important role here with our BBTC team before and after the storm. We are grateful to have the privilege to work beside such a dedicated advocate and in general, great person. Thank you, Jennifer, for all of your hard work and know that we value your contribution to our team."
