Twenty-Six Humble ISD students have been recognized by the National Merit Scholarship Program.
Six students have been recognized as National Merit Finalists. They are: Muyi Aghedo, Robert Appling, Ainsley Gill, and Julia Paraskevas from Kingwood High School; Eric Halliday from Kingwood Park High School; and Adam Nguyen from Summer Creek High School. These students rank in the top one percent of the nation’s high school seniors.
Twenty students have been named National Merit Commended Students: Colby Cummins, Atascocita High School; Zachary Danz, Daphne Han, Carson Linn, Rachel Moore, Justin Pierce, Neha Shaw, Claire Sullivan, Neil Tian, and Mitchell VanCleave from Kingwood High School; Adeer Siddiqui, Gabriel Suddeth, and Nicholas Zoltan from Kingwood Park High School; Joshua Aldrich, Jonathan Chacko, Abby Hall, Ethan Le, Joseph Murphy, Alexander Parks, and Ethan Yang from Summer Creek High School. These students rank in the top three percent of the nation’s high school seniors.
The National Merit Scholarship Program is an academic competition for recognition and scholarships. High school students enter the National Merit Program by taking the Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test (PSAT/NMSQT). Of the 1.6 million entrants, only about 3 percent are chosen for recognition in the National Merit Scholarship Program based upon their exceptional test scores.
