Dear Humble ISD Staff,
Attracting and retaining staff is among Humble ISD’s top priorities. Over the past decade, Humble ISD has been intentional about becoming one of the higher-paying districts in the Houston area. We are excited to share that the Humble ISD School Board, on June 15, 2021, approved a budget that:
- Provides 3 percent on average raise for all staff for 2021-2022
- Increases entry teacher pay $2,300 from $56,700 to $59,000 (bachelor’s degree)
- Rolls the $1,400 stipend for teachers, librarians, nurses and counselors as recognized by House Bill 3 into annual salary. By rolling it into annual salary and paying it out over the course of the year beginning in the 2021-22 employment year, it will be considered as income and calculated into retirement benefits when House Bill 3 employees retire.
- Provides increases to experienced teachers:
- 1 to 6 years: $1,400 stipend included in salary + $1,750 increase for 2021-2022
- 7 to 14 years: $1,400 stipend included in salary + $1,800 increase for 2021-2022
- 15 to 21 years: $1,400 stipend included in salary + $1,850 increase for 2021-2022
- 22 to 26+ years: $1,400 stipend included in salary + $2,450 to $3,401 increase for 2021 -2022, varying by years of experience within 22 to 26+
- Keeps in place the $1,000 stipend for other eligible, non-House Bill 3 staff, to be paid in $500 installments in December and May
- Raises Humble ISD minimum pay for entry-level staff in positions such as custodial, child nutrition or bus aide, to $11.50 per hour for full-time hourly staff
- Increases the District paid employee life insurance from a $10,000 benefit to a $15,000 benefit
- Avoids raising employee premium costs for employees on the Humble ISD Alternative Health Plan (Cigna)
The district allocated $10.6 million to provide raises.

Q. If I taught in Humble ISD last year, when will I see my raise?
See above for dates.
Q. As a teacher returning to the district, when and where can I see my 2021-2022 salary?
On Sept. 15, log into Munis Self Serve to see your salary notification. Human Resources and Payroll will be updating Munis for eligible teachers, paraeducators and campus personnel on 177, 187, 190 and 195-day employment calendars (pay cycle September through August) by Sept. 15. Most teachers are on a 187-employment calendar.
Q. If I log into Munis Self Serve now, will my salary be correct?
The salary portion of the salary notice will reflect 2020-2021, given that final pay from the 2020-2021 year is processed in the summer. Other information in MUNIS, such as Start Date, End Date, Local Years and Total Years, may be updated before your first paycheck on the 2021-2022 employment calendar, which occurs July 15 for 226-calendar employees and September 15 for 187-calendar employees.
Q. I am a returning teacher who has five years of experience. I see on the hiring schedule that a teacher with five years of experience and a bachelor’s degree is hired into the district at a salary of $60,450. Will I earn that?
Yes. Existing teachers are not paid less than teachers hired into the district with the same years of experience. Improvements to the hiring schedule benefit all teachers.
