Super Staffers2 2021-11-09-27

Humble ISD’s Super Staffers of the Month were recognized at the regularly scheduled Board Meeting on November 9. This month’s Super Staffer Awards is sponsored by Kingwood Emergency Hospital. Pictured from left are School Board President Martina Dixon, Kingwood Emergency Hospital representative Claire King, Summer Creek High School Counselor Jana Murray, Human Resources Compensation Coordinator Deborah Odom, Hidden Hollow Elementary Paraeducator Heather Barr, and Superintendent Dr. Elizabeth Fagen.

Honored at the Board Meeting were the following Super Staffers:

Heather Barr — Hidden Hollow Elementary, Paraeducator
Those who nominated her said, "Heather is always willing to help in any way she can all around our campus and always with a smile. She steps up to support teachers in any way they need. She is eager to work with our students and help them in their learning, whether it is in the computer lab, classroom, or in small groups.  We are honored to have her on our team."

Jana Miurray — Summer Creek High School, Counselor
Those who nominated her said, "Jana Murray is the gold standard when it comes to counselors in Humble ISD.  As both a counselor and a master scheduler, she does so much for students and staff day in and day out.  Jana has integrity and a strong work ethic; she is also is kind, smart, and dependable.  She is always looking out for what's best for students and staff.  We are lucky to have Ms. Murray at Summer Creek High School and in Humble ISD."

Deborah Odom — Human Resources Department, Compensation Coordinator
Those who nominated her said, "Deborah, who goes by Boo, has been with the district since 2007 and has been instrumental in the processing of employee pay, especially this year. The HR Department processes approximately 8,000 employment status changes throughout the year. This does not include the 7000+ employee pay records touched during the summer months in providing general increases for all employees as well as the various temporary pay initiatives this year along with the extra retention incentive stipends impacting 6000+ employees in September, December, and May. Boo, who has taken on the role of Compensation Coordinator since April 2020, has put in a tremendous number of hours over the last several months to ensure every employee's pay situation is as accurate as possible so that the Payroll Department can complete their final phase of the paycheck process. Boo is very conscientious and meticulous in her work and strives to always do her best in getting things right the first time so that employees don't have to worry about their pay and can continue focusing on meeting the needs of our students. Boo's knowledge and expertise is greatly appreciated by me, John Krippel, and the entire HR team."
