The University Interscholastic League released its biennial district realignment for 2022-2024 on Thursday, Feb. 3.
Atascocita, Humble, Kingwood, and Summer Creek high schools will remain in Region III District 21-6A. They will be joined by current members C.E. King, North Shore and Beaumont West Brook. Beaumont United has moved up to the 6A Classification and will join 21-6A which will become an eight team district.
Kingwood Park will join Region II District 8-5A in football and will play Baytown Goose Creek Memorial, Baytown Lee, Baytown Sterling, Crosby, La Porte, Mt. Belvieu Barbers Hill, New Caney Porter and Port Arthur Memorial. For most other sports, Kingwood Park will be in Region II District 16-5A with Dayton, Huntsville, Lufkin, Nacogdoches and New Caney Porter.
The realignments take effect at the beginning of the 2022-2023 school year.
UIL schools are placed in the six different classifications, 1A through 6A, based on enrollment numbers at high schools across Texas. For a complete listing of school and specific realignments, visit the UIL website at www.uiltexas.org.
