Thirty-one Humble ISD students have been recognized by the National Merit Scholarship Program.
Four students have been recognized as National Merit Finalists. They are: Nicholas Joy, Atascocita High School; Evan Hebert, Kingwood Park High School; and Daniel Alexander and Sanjay Patel, Kingwood High School. These students rank in the top one percent of the nation’s high school seniors.
Twenty-seven students have been named National Merit Commended Students: Luke Alvarado from Humble High School; Farhan Ahsan, Sawyer Bryce, Bradley Butterfield, Abigail Champion, Lily Dempsey, Adriano Espinosa, Elizabeth Forrester, Hassan Hashemian, Jacob Malone, Emily Meyer, Thomas Neuman, John Picotte, and Reina Wan from Kingwood High School; Reece Cavallo and Kathleen Ortiz from Kingwood Park High School. The National Merit Scholarship Program is an academic competition for recognition and scholarships. High school students enter the National Merit Program by taking the Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test (PSAT/NMSQT). Of the 1.6 million entrants, only about 3 percent are chosen for recognition in the National Merit Scholarship Program based upon their exceptional test scores.
