For the past two years, families have not had to complete the annual application in order to qualify for free meals; although the application was still required for families to qualify for additional benefits, such as P-EBT. As of June 30, 2022, the USDA has discontinued the funding that has provided free meals to all students. It is critical for families to complete the annual application this school year in order to qualify for free and reduced meals.
This important data also allows Humble ISD families to receive additional benefits such as discounted internet costs, reduced fees for SAT/ACT testing, help with college application fees, potential eligibility if P-EBT benefits are offered in the future, as well as maximizing important state and federal funding for individual schools. Applications are provided online at www.schoolcafe.com. Families will need to set up an account, then apply for free/reduced meals. Paper applications are available at the Child Nutrition Services Department located at 1705 Wilson Road, Building D.
