Humble ISD Police Chief Solomon Cook

Humble ISD Police Chief Solomon Cook serves as President of the Texas School Police Chiefs’ Association. The association promotes professional development opportunities and dialogue among the 330 school district police forces in Texas.

Cook brings 46 years of experience in law enforcement, serving with several agencies including the City of Humble. He joined the Humble ISD Police Department in 1996 as Captain and became Chief in 2004. Chief Cook served as chair on the Texas Commision on Law Enforcement Committee for House Bill 2684, which created training standards for school district police officers. 

Cook earned his bachelor’s in Criminal Justice from Southwest University. He is a graduate of the FBI Command College and a FBI - LEEDA Trilogy Award recipient. His certifications and licenses include a Master Peace Officer Certification, Police Instructor, Crime Prevention Instructor, Firearms Instructor, Less Lethal Tactics Instructor, Defensive Tactics Instructor, ALERRT Instructor and Arson Investigations Certification.
