Officer Billy Ivey was honored as the Humble ISD Police Department Officer of the Year at the 2022 Honoring Our Heroes Luncheon hosted by Partnership Lake Houston on Sept. 20. Each year, Partnership Lake Houston recognizes outstanding first responders from agencies within the area.

Officer Ivey was recognized for serving more than 50 years in law enforcement. He began his career in 1971 with the Texas Department of Public Safety. In 2018, he joined Humble ISD Police.

“With safety as a priority, Officer Ivey comes in early, stays late and provides any necessary assistance to support the needs of the district we serve without hesitation,” Chief Cook said.  “The department would like to honor Officer Ivey’s selfless dedication and tireless effort that has touched and changed countless people within our organization and community.”

Before the awards were presented, Chief Cook served as a featured speaker and spoke about how agencies and organizations within the community cooperate so that the Lake Houston area remains a great place for families.
