October 20, 2022

Humble ISD’s Super Staffers of the Month were recognized at the regularly scheduled Board Meeting on October 18. This month’s Super Staffer Awards is sponsored by Whataburger.

Honored at the Board Meeting were the following Super Staffers:

Angelina Armstrong — Shadow Forest Elementary School, 4th Grade Teacher
Those who nominated her said, "Angelina has had an amazing start as an Humble ISD teacher! Due to changes in enrollment numbers, Angelina was moved to a 4th grade teaching position the week before school started. She took on this change with a positive attitude and embraced this opportunity to continue to grow and learn as a professional. Angelina has been a collaborative and supportive teammate, has taken the initiative to learn new resources and curriculum, and has developed a positive classroom community of engaged learners. Shadow Forest Elementary is fortunate to have Angelina as part of our family!"

Aaron Halling — Career and Technology Education, CTE Wheel Teacher
Those who nominated him said, "Mr. Halling is one of 12 CTE Wheel Teachers, which is an innovative course that we offer here in Humble ISD. He teaches the Health Science & Animal Science module and just completed his first 9 week rotation at Creekwood Middle School. Mr. Halling has gone above and beyond the normal duties of a teacher in providing an extraordinary experience for his students. He has attended every feeder campus CTE school event, and most recently stayed the whole day for 6th Grade Colt Day on a Saturday. He also brings such a high positive energy level which is infectious to all that he comes in contact with."

Alison Doolin — Educational Support Services, Dyslexia Specialist
Those who nominated her said, "Alison continually goes above and beyond to ensure the dyslexia department is meeting the needs of the students and campuses we serve.  She thinks outside-of-the box to find creative solutions while continuing to ensure we remain responsive to shifts in the Texas dyslexia landscape.  She mentored our new district specialist, Amy Green, while she was a campus dyslexia specialist at WMS, and now as she transitions to joining the District Dyslexia Team.  Alison is in the first cohort to become a Certified Structured Literacy Dyslexia Interventionist through the Reading by Design Accredited Pathway.  She makes herself available throughout the day and evening to ensure all students, dyslexia/dysgraphia specialists, and campuses have their needs met."
