The Atascocita football team has been crowned Dave Campbell’s Most Driven Team in Texas presented by Pep Boys.

More than 400,000 votes were cast during the competition, according to Dave Campbell’s Texas Football. Atascocita finished as the top vote getter and received a check for $10,000 prior to the 2022 UIL Class 6A Division State Championship game on Saturday, December 17, 2022 at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas.

“We are grateful for our Eagle Community and their willingness to support our students and organizations,” Atascocita Principal Will Falker said. “Winning this award highlights the hard work, sacrifice, and family atmosphere ingrained in all of our programs at AHS. We also want to thank Dave Campbell’s Texas Football and Pep Boys for the opportunity to win the Most Driven Award.”

In November, 10 teams were announced as finalists for the award, which included Atascocita, after senior linebacker Jadon Ducos was named a Most Driven Scholar Athlete recipient earlier this fall. Communities were asked to vote as many times as they could to make their team the Most Driven Team of 2022. Atascocita was one of five Houston area programs to be named finalists along with Shadow Creek, North Shore, Jersey Village and Katy.

The Atascocita football team finished the 2022 season with a 11-3 overall record and reached the Class 6A Division I State Quarterfinals for the second-straight season. This is the third time in the past four years and the fifth time in program history to reach the State Quarterfinals.
