In 2022, Humble ISD saw its football teams once again represent their schools and communities with pride on the gridiron.
Atascocita led the pack reaching the Class 6A Division I State Quarterfinals for a second-straight season. The Eagles finished the year 11-3 overall.
Head coach Craig Stump was a finalist for the Touchdown Club of Houston Public School Coach of the Year. AHS senior Samu Taumanupepe was a finalist for the Touchdown Club of Houston Defensive Player of the Year.
Senior linebacker Jadon Ducos was named the District 21-6A Defensive MVP, while sophomore running back Tory Blaylock earned the District 21-6A Newcomer of the Year accolade.
Summer Creek posted an 8-5 overall record and made the playoffs for a second-straight season. The Bulldogs reached the Class 6A Division II Regional Quarterfinals. Junior running back Lloyd Avant was named the District 21-6A Offensive MVP at season’s end.
Kingwood Park went 7-4 overall and finished third in District 8-5A-DI play. The Panthers made the playoffs for the first time since 2019 and reached the Bi-District round. KPHS was anchored on defense by Diego Davis, who was selected as the District 8-5A-DI Defensive Lineman of the Year.
Humble and Kingwood both finished just outside the playoff picture, both posting 5-5 overall records for the 2022 season.
