April 12, 2023
Humble ISD’s Super Staffers of the Month were recognized at the regularly scheduled Board Meeting on April 11. This month’s Super Staffer Awards is sponsored by Whataburger.
Honored at the Board Meeting were the following Super Staffers:
Maria Arreguin — River Pines Elementary Bilingual Kindergarten Teacher
Those who nominated her said, "Mrs. Arreguin is a phenomenal bilingual kindergarten teacher whose high expectations ensure student's growth and success. Her positive attitude is contagious, and she is always thinking of ways to inspire students through innovative thinking and practices. She always has a smile on her face and is loved by all of her students and parents. She is a true asset to River Pines Elementary."
Barbara Castillo — Atascocita High School Head Custodian
Those who nominated her said, "Barbara is the hardest-working person I know in the world. She is one of the first people on campus and almost always the last to leave. This year Barbara's crew is understaffed; however, that has not prevented her from ensuring that AHS remains a beautiful campus inside and out. The entire campus sees Barbara's love for AHS, which has inspired students, teachers, and administrators to help and assist her team wherever necessary. I have never seen Barbara have a bad day at AHS. The only time you will see Barbara upset is when you surprise her when she least expects it. Barbara is more than an employee of Humble ISD and the AHS Community. Barbara is family, who is loved and respected by everyone."
Parker Blair — Career and Technology Education Ag Facilities Manager
Those who nominated him said, "Mr. Parker Blair was hired in Fall of 2022 as our North and South Barn Manager. This was his first year in this role, but he goes above and beyond to ensure the needs of both barns, our livestock animals and our teachers are met. Parker is a team player, and completes all tasks in a timely manner. He is visible in the barns and makes sure he is available to our FFA students and parents for animal-related questions. He is kind, always has a smile on his face and is willing to work. Our ag teachers are appreciative of the outstanding work he does to assist them, which in turn, makes their job easier. He does it all, from administering livestock medication, to collaborating with various Humble ISD departments on various external barn requests, to transporting animals to vet visits, rodeos, and assisting our teachers as well as the CTE department. He is a former Kingwood Park High school graduate and he had the pleasure of raising livestock animals, so this barn manager role was the perfect fit for him. I am grateful to him and all he does for CTE, the Humble ISD FFA department and our district."
CAMPUS SUPER STAFFERS
Each month, campuses and departments select an individual to be honored as a Super Staffer for their outstanding work in advancing student achievement.
