Former North Belt Campus will be an Early Childhood Center

The North Belt campus was home to an elementary school for 55 years, from January 1968 to May 2023.

Humble ISD is now utilizing the campus as an Early Childhood Center. Beginning with the 2023-2024 school year, the former North Belt will be home to at least six pre-kindergarten classes.

Having a campus available to place Pre-K classes will help preserve classrooms for grades K-5 on other campuses.

New residential construction has brought rapid student enrollment increases in the southern portion of the district, and more students require more classrooms. Additionally, pre-k teachers at the Early Childhood Center will enjoy learning and working together, as they specialize in the unique needs of young children.

Humble ISD plans to house Pre-K classes on 23 elementary campuses and the Early Childhood Center. Projected enrollment for Pre-K district wide is 1,140 children.
