Humble ISD is reinvesting in the community by adding immersive, imaginatively-themed playgrounds at all elementary schools, and outdoor obstacle and fitness courses at secondary schools.
Outdoor equipment is open to the public on elementary and middle school campuses when school is not in session. All are built on handicap-accessible, poured-in-place rubber surfaces, with fall protection.
The Woodland Hills Elementary fairy tale-themed playground, Elm Grove Elementary treehouse-themed playground, Park Lakes Elementary safari-themed playground, River Pines Elementary rainforest-themed playground and the Creekwood Middle School fitness course opened during the 2022-2023 school year.
More playgrounds and fitness courses are coming.
Humble ISD looks forward to opening more playgrounds this school year. All campuses in the district will have playgrounds/courses by 2028.
