Todd Hicks, who began his career in education as a teacher at Humble High School, will be the district’s new Assistant Superintendent of High Schools. Mr. Hicks will join Humble ISD in January 2024.
The Humble ISD School Board appointed Mr. Hicks to the position at their December 12, 2023, meeting. The assistant superintendent position became open when Mr. Trey Kraemer, the district’s current Assistant Superintendent of High Schools, announced he will be retiring from Humble ISD at the end of the 2023-2024 school year.
Mr. Hicks previously joined the Humble ISD Family as an HHS teacher in 2000. He served the Humble High School community for seven years as a teacher and Assistant Principal. In 2007, he became the Assistant Principal at Ross Sterling Middle School, where he served the SMS community for five years. In 2013, Mr. Hicks left Humble ISD to become Principal of Crosby Middle School, where he went on to become Executive Director of Secondary Education, and currently Executive Director of Operations, for Crosby ISD.

I am excited to return to the Humble ISD Family, and look forward to creating an atmosphere of collaboration, accountability, and trust that benefits the students and staff of Humble ISD.”
Mr. Hicks earned his bachelor’s degree at Sam Houston State University and his master’s degree from Oklahoma State University. In 2021, he earned his Texas Educator Superintendent Certification from Sam Houston State University, where he is currently pursuing a doctorate in Educational Leadership. His family includes his wife Jamie, and two daughters.
