On Friday, May 17, Ridge Creek Principal Dr. Andrenetta Scott will be honored at the Texas Black Expo Corporate Awards Luncheon and Excellence in Education Event at the J.W. Marriott in Houston.
Dr. Scott is the 2024 recipient of the TBE Excellence in Education Award.
“It is a great honor and a blessing to receive this award,” Dr. Scott said. “I often share that I am paid to do what I was made to do. I get to serve in this capacity, and the Lord is blessing me to be recognized for it! Thank you, Texas Black Expo for giving me this opportunity.”
Dr. Scott has 30 years of experience in education and began her educational career in Aldine Independent School District in 1994. Since then she has served as a building principal at Keeble Primary School and Caraway Elementary School both in the Aldine Independent School District. Dr. Scott is currently serving as the principal of Ridge Creek Elementary School in Humble ISD.
Her educational experiences have afforded her the opportunity to collaborate with a diverse group of people to meet the common goal of increasing student achievement and well-being. Dr. Scott's educational philosophy is based on her uncompromising belief that all students can learn. She believes that students learn best when they are provided a positive climate and culture, an engaging learning environment, strong and knowledgeable leadership, teachers who are committed and focused on providing high-quality instruction, an encouraging community and a supportive family. Humble ISD possesses all of these traits.
Dr. Scott received her Bachelor's Degree in Business Management from the University of Phoenix. She continued her education by attending Sam Houston State University where she received her Master's Degree in Educational Leadership with an emphasis in Special Education. She went on to obtain her Doctoral Degree in Christian Leadership from John Wesley University.
