Humble ISD is OPEN on Friday, May 17, 2024.
As you know, most Humble ISD schools are open on Friday, May 17. It is our goal to provide a safe and comfortable place for students to be after the storm and to move forward with special activities that students may have been anticipating today. There are a number of special activities that campuses schedule in May.
We also understand some families may need extra time this morning. To provide flexibility, middle schools and high schools will not record student tardies for the first period. Elementary schools will not record student tardies until after 9 a.m. Friday.
Additionally, families who are not ready for their children to be back in school are welcome to keep them home. Schools will be sensitive to student needs. Absences are excused with a parent note. The district is allowed to exempt first period tardiness due to the weather, however, the state education code requires us to record absences at schools that are open.
