On November 16, 2024, the inaugural “Work Out With A Vet” event was held at Atascocita High School. The event was held to honor veterans of the armed forces, encourage physical fitness and raise awareness of the benefits of the Humble ISD JROTC programs.

A key piece to the event was a United States Army Black Hawk Helicopter that was flown in and put on display by the 1st Battalion 158th Aviation Regiment Assault Helicopter Battalion “Ghostriders”.

The Atascocita MCJROTC unit played a key role in the event, including hosting, leading the Marine Daily 7 warm-up and a modified combat fitness field test for fellow cadets, students, United States Congressman Dan Crenshaw and community members.

On Tuesday, at the December Humble ISD School Board Meeting, the Atascocita MCJROTC was presented a frame with a photo from the event, recognition of leadership certificate and a Charlie Company patch that was presented to Humble ISD Board Member Mike Grabowski by Chief Warrant Officer 2 Jeremy Rowe the day of the event.
