Timbers Elementary School students and community members gathered on Monday, February 24, to celebrate the unveiling of the school’s new “Great Outdoors”-inspired playground. The dedication ceremony featured speeches by student council members, a cheer from the Timbers Elementary Wolfette’s Club, and a lively drum performance by fifth-grade students.
Timbers Elementary is the fifth Humble ISD campus to debut an updated playground during the 2024-2025 school year. This marks the district’s 15th new playground completed as part of Humble ISD’s ongoing campus playground revitalization initiative.
A Closer Look at Timbers Elementary’s New Playground
Designed for children ages 5 to 12, the playground combines adventure with themed, custom-built equipment and a safe, poured-in-place rubber surface.
At its center stands a towering “mountain” rope structure, inviting students to climb and take in the surroundings. A “river” rope bridge and an 18-foot “waterfall” slide add to the outdoor theme, while a double zipline offers a ride, simulating the feeling of soaring through the sky.
Built by KOMPAN, Inc., the playground is open to the public outside of school hours.
