Dr. Ted Landry named Deputy Superintendent

The Humble ISD School Board approved Dr. Ted Landry as a Deputy Superintendent at the March School Board meeting. He will join Humble ISD in June. The Deputy Superintendent position became open when Dr. Roger Brown was promoted to Superintendent of Schools.

Currently serving as Principal of The Woodlands High School in Conroe ISD, Dr. Landry has 30 years of experience in public education, including 16 years with Humble ISD. Dr. Landry served as Principal of Kingwood High School from 2012 to 2018. He led the campus through Hurricane Harvey and the restoration of Kingwood High School.

Prior to being Kingwood High School Principal, Dr. Landry served as Special Assistant to Superintendent Dr. Guy Sconzo for the implementation of a curriculum audit and the updating of School Board policies as a result of the audit. In Humble ISD, he also has served as the Associate Principal of Atascocita High School, as well as an Assistant Principal and Counselor at Kingwood High School. Dr. Landry also was a high school social studies teacher, coach, and counselor in Louisiana.

Prior to college, he served in the United States Marine Corps, stationed in Washington, D.C., for Presidential Service under President Reagan and President Bush.

Born and raised in South Louisiana, he earned his bachelor’s and master's degrees at the University of Louisiana-Lafayette and his doctoral degree at the University of Houston. Dr. Landry and his wife Casey are the proud parents of four children.

Together with Dr. Brown and the leadership of the district, I hope to continue the growth of the long-lasting love of learning in all stakeholders and create an atmosphere of trust and support for all.”

Deputy Superintendent Dr. Landry’s responsibilities will include Teaching and Learning, Educational Support Services (includes Special Education, Health Services, Section 504 Accommodations, and Dyslexia Services), Fine Arts, and Athletics.

Deputy Superintendent Terry Perkins’ responsibilities will continue to include all campuses, Personalized Student Success (includes Advanced Learning & Services, Career and Technical Education, Counseling and Behavioral Services, and Library and Media Services), and Technology.
