The 78th Annual Humble ISD Livestock Show came to a close on Thursday afternoon with the annual auction held at the Humble Civic Center.
Humble ISD FFA and 4H members took their prize-winning animals and AgMech Projects across the stage awaiting the highest bidder.
This year, $335,349.99 was given to the students of Humble ISD. Since 2020, this is the third time the auction total has surpassed $300,000 - (2024: $340,756; 2020: $334, 450.01).
Kingwood Park’s Brayan Skero showed the Grand Champion Steer, netting $27,000 at the auction. The project was bought by Mike Carr Attorney and Rosewood Funeral Home.
Atascocita’s Diesel Jackson showed the Grand Champion Swine and took home $8,500 (Buyers: Todd & Nicki Stewart and Skero Furniture); Kingwood’s Kaylee Knowles had the Grand Champion Goat and sold it for $5,000 (Buyer: Northeast Hospital); Atascocita’s Rebecca Culver showed the Grand Champion Lamb and received $5,000 (Buyer: MLH Construction) in auction.
Kingwood’s Catelyn Seely’s turkey took home Grand Champion honors and sold for $7,000 (Buyer: Facility Sources); Keaton Cawyer (4H) showed the Grand Champion broilers and took home $5,500 (Buyers: Carry Attorney and Rosewood Funeral Home) and Charles Garmon (4H) showed the Grand Champion Rabbits and sold them for $7,500 (Buyer: Mod U Serve).
The Pit Challenge Grand Champion Project sold for $5,000 (Buyer: 494 Glass) and Ag Mech Grand Champion Project sold for $5,000 (Buyer: Planet Ford). The Pit Challenge Reserve Grand Champion Project sold for $3,750 (Buyer: Hope Legacy) and the Ag Mech Reserve Grand Champion sold for $2,400 (Buyer: Priority Towing).
