Each year, the Humble ISD Rodeo Art Show highlights the exceptional educational opportunities available to students through the district’s Visual Arts programs.
The Rodeo Art Show features a diverse array of 2-dimensional and 3-dimensional artwork, which is evaluated by a panel of 8 experienced artists and art educators. The panel considers originality, creativity, craftsmanship, and Western content when determining the awards.
This year, 24 students received top honors for their outstanding contributions to the art show. These awards included Special Merit, Gold Medal, Best in Show, Reserve Grand Champions, and Grand Champion. Twenty-three students and their art teachers were celebrated at the Board of Trustees Meeting on Tuesday, April 8, where the students were presented with plaques in recognition of their achievements.
In addition to these awards, 12 pieces of artwork—chosen from nearly 1,000 entries—were selected by the Humble ISD Education Foundation Auction Committee to be featured in the Foundation’s Gala Auction later this month. Proceeds from the auction will directly benefit the students who created the artwork.
Additionally, 12 pieces of elementary student artwork were selected and photographed for card sets, which will be sold in the Spirit Store located in the Humble ISD Administration Building.
